To the Residents of the Village of Lagrange:

Once again, I have no new news on the Covid 19 virus which is good news. Everything is still the same and holding and my hope is that it stays that way. I applaud everyone for doing a great job with social distancing.

As we all have been told restaurants, gyms and other facilities are allowed to open this Friday. I hope everyone supports these businesses while following the state guide lines to keep everyone safe and to help keep these businesses stay in compliance so they can survive. Along these same lines I believe if you can go to a gym inside you should be able to go to a basketball court or tennis court outside so we will be opening these this Friday also. Please help keep them open by respecting other people’s space when at the courts. If you do not want to go to these places yet, I understand, this decision is totally up to you. I have been torn by this decision but at the same time there has to be some sort of normalcy as we proceed to open things up. I am still waiting for conformation on the baseball diamonds at the park because there are conflicting stories on the baseball and softball seasons. I will update you as soon as I get clarification.

On a positive note we have been contacted by Fox 8 News and weather permitting they are going to send their SkyFox helicopter to video the parade of seniors this Friday at 6:00 PM and broadcast it live on the Fox 8 News Facebook page and Fox 8 News website for the parents and the community of Lagrange. Thank you, Bryan Gruden from Fox 8 News, for helping our community give these seniors a great parade they can all remember. We will be marking the square with sidewalk chalk in 6-foot intervals to show we are following the social distancing guidelines. I want to keep everyone safe as they enjoy this tribute to the class of 2020 as well as following the Health Department regulations.

I have had a lot of questions about safety town. There will be no safety town this year but we will accommodate all the children who would have gone this year, in next years class. We will either have a morning and an afternoon class or we will have two weeks of classes. This will be determined next year but I want you to know we will definitely take care of the children who lost out on this year’s class.

I will send out another update this week before the parade with suggestions on where to park.

Hoping to see everyone this Friday!
