To the Residents of the Village of Lagrange:

I have not sent out an update lately because there was nothing to update you on. That has changed somewhat as we now have some cases. In June we had no cases at all then in July we had seven and so far in August we are at six. I have been informed by the Health Department that most of these are un-vaccinated people. This variant seems to be more contagious but the symptoms are so far not as severe. I know two people who have it and one is vaccinated and the other is not. Both have very minor symptoms and only got tested because of lack of taste. The Health Department thinks this could go on for about three weeks and then start to tail off, let’s hope this is true. I will continue to keep you informed of this situation until it calms down again.

I would like to thank everyone who came out to support our First Responders at the 2021 National Night Out on August 3, 2021. We had a great turn out and I think children and adults alike had a great time meeting our Policeman, Fireman and Paramedics. I would like to give a special shout out to Councilman Rick Honer and his family for organizing another great event and to Patrolman Mark Turner for handling the grilling duties. Also, I would like to thank all the First Responders for coming out to meet the community members and demonstrate the different vehicles used to keep our Village and Township safe. Great job!!!!!

Once again, I hope you all stay safe and that we get through this with limited cases, and it starts to slow down and eventually subside.

          Stay safe:

          Mayor Kim Straus
